The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 25th in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday, January 24 at Thomasville Funeral Home.

Doc was born in Davidson County, May 10, 1944, a son of the late Ivory Lee Proctor and Della Kennedy Proctor. He served with the Thomasville Fire Department from January 10, 1970 until November 30, 1996, retiring with the rank of Captain. Mrs. Christine Flowers Atkins, 83, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, 2017 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Mrs. Atkins was born on December 23, 1934 in Union County, NC, a daughter to the late Lee Will and Viva Taylor Flowers.

Mrs. Iris Bumgardner Almond, 93, a former resident of Climax, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. Almond was born in Thomasville, January 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Adam Luther Bumgardner and Laura Nellie Whisnatt Bumgardner. Iris enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts, especially embroidery. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Charles Almond; a son, Vernon C.... Rachel Delores Elliott Chappell, 81, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home. A resident of this area all of her life, Rachel was born on August 16, 1936 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Forrest and Medric Bennett Elliott. She was a homemaker and a member of Westfield Baptist Church.
